Back to Balance

Back to Balance is one of those classes that I think everyone should try at some point — especially if you’re worried about losing confidence with your balance, feeling a bit unsteady on your feet, or just want to keep moving as you get older. This isn’t a class where you’ll be up and down from the floor or lifting heavy weights. Everything we do is either standing or seated, and we use small bits of equipment like resistance bands and soft balls to build strength and improve posture in a safe, manageable way.
Led by Yvonne Richardson — who has decades of experience working with people with cardiac conditions, mild strokes, and other long-term health issues — this class is a brilliant option for older adults, or anyone who wants to stay active but finds most mainstream exercise classes a bit too much.Yoga isn’t about perfection or extreme flexibility — it’s about presence. It’s about moving your body in a way that feels good, calming your nervous system, and creating space (physically and mentally) in your week. It’s about stretching, breathing, and just being — even if just for an hour.
We focus on strength, balance, posture and mobility — all the things that help you stay independent and steady. Every movement is adaptable, and there’s no pressure or competition. It’s just a lovely group of people working at their own pace, with encouragement and expert guidance along the way.
Whether you’re recovering from illness or injury, managing a health condition like arthritis or osteoporosis, or simply want to feel more confident when walking, lifting or getting out and about — this class is a great place to start.
