StrongHER Together

Supportive Strength Training for Women in Perimenopause and Beyond

StrongHER Together is a physiotherapy-led strength class designed specifically for women navigating the hormonal shifts of perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. Created and delivered by head physio Charlotte Murray (who understands this stage of life first-hand) alongside experienced physios Jim Speechley and McKenzie Jenkin, these sessions offer so much more than just exercise — they’re about connection, confidence, and future-proofing your health.

Hormonal decline can affect muscle mass, bone density, joint health, body composition, and even mental clarity. Resistance training is one of the most powerful ways to support the body through these changes, and StrongHER Together offers a safe, welcoming space to lift weights, get stronger, and learn how to exercise in a way that truly supports long-term health.
There’s no pressure to perform and no competitive vibe — just expert coaching, sensible programming, and a group of women cheering each other on. Whether you’re brand new to strength training or getting back into it after a break, this is the perfect place to start.

Physio-Led Strength & Fitness for People Getting Back on Track

Back to Activity is a supportive, physiotherapy-led exercise class designed for anyone looking to regain strength, rebuild confidence, and safely return to movement. Whether recovering from an injury, managing a long-term condition, or just feeling unsure where to start, this class offers an effective way to ease back into exercise.

Led by senior physiotherapist Jim Speechley, the focus is on moving well — not moving fast. With small group sizes and expert supervision, participants benefit from a tailored, circuit-style approach that improves strength, mobility, balance, and cardiovascular fitness without the pressure of a traditional gym class. Every movement can be adapted to suit individual needs, so it’s ideal for those with medical conditions or those returning after a long time off.

There’s no judgement, no competition — just a safe space to get stronger, feel better, and build a more active future.

Supervised Open Gym at The Physio Rehab Barn

Train with confidence. Rehab with support. Lift with purpose
Power Hour is our physio-supervised open gym session, designed for those who want the flexibility of independent training alongside the reassurance of expert support. Whether you’re building strength, working through your rehab programme, or simply looking for a safe space to train, you’ll have access to our specialist rehab gym — with a physiotherapist on hand throughout to offer advice, feedback and progression when you need it.
These sessions are perfect for people nearing the end of a rehab journey, managing an injury, returning to exercise after time out, or looking to maintain strength and mobility with proper guidance. It’s not a formal class, but you’re never left on your own. A maximum of eight people use the space at one time, ensuring a calm and supportive environment with plenty of one-to-one attention available.
To attend Power Hour, you must either be a current patient or class client (registered with us on TeamUp), or book a one-hour Gym Assessment before your first session. This assessment allows us to understand your injury history, goals and current ability, ensuring we can support you safely and effectively in the open gym setting.
Power Hour runs on Saturdays at 9am at The Physio Rehab Barn in Rishworth. Sessions cost £15 per person, which includes full access to the rehab gym and on-the-floor supervision from one of our experienced physiotherapists. The initial Gym Assessment for new clients is £100 for a one-hour session, which includes a full screening, movement analysis, detailed injury and medical history, and a personalised plan tailored to your goals. During your Power Hour, you’ll have access to our extensive range of equipment, including free weights, resistance bands, cardio equipment, cable machines, strength machines (such as hack squat, leg press, leg curl and leg extension), balance tools, squat racks, barbells with up to 200kg in plates, dumbbells, kettlebells, matwork space and more.
This session is ideal for anyone wanting to continue progressing after physiotherapy, or those looking for a structured, supportive alternative to a busy commercial gym — with expert physio oversight built in.
If you’re already on TeamUp, you can book straight away. If you’re new, start by booking your one-hour Gym Assessment so we can make sure Power Hour is the right fit for you. Book now via TeamUp or get in touch with our team if you have any questions.
