1-to-1 Session With A Physio

Sometimes, group classes aren’t quite the right fit — especially when you’re just starting out, managing an injury, or simply want undivided attention. That’s where our 1:1 sessions come in. Whether you’re in pain, recovering from surgery, or wanting to build strength and confidence, these sessions offer expert, personalised guidance in a supportive environment.
Held mainly at our Physio Rehab Barn in Rishworth — or sometimes at the Ripponden Clinic for mat-based work — these sessions can take place on the reformer, mat, or in our gym. They’re delivered by experienced physiotherapists who understand both injury and performance, and how to bridge the gap between the two.

Who Typically Benefits From 1-1 sessions?
1:1 sessions are ideal for anyone who needs more support, structure, or reassurance than a group class can offer. If you’ve had a long-standing issue, a complex injury, or you’re not sure where to start with exercise — this is a great place to begin. They’re also perfect if you’re nervous about joining a class or want to build a foundation of strength and movement first.
We also work with active individuals recovering from surgery or sports injuries, people managing multiple conditions at once (e.g., arthritis and back pain), and those wanting accountability, expert eyes on their technique, or a tailored programme that adapts as they progress. These sessions are often the missing link between finishing physio and feeling truly ready to return to your sport, job, or lifestyle.
We offer several types of 1:1 sessions depending on your needs. These include:
All are led by experienced physiotherapists who can assess, treat, and guide you through a structured plan. We use a mix of mobility and stability work, progressive resistance training, and coaching — with constant attention to how your body is moving and responding. Every rep is purposeful and adapted to your goals, injuries, and ability level.
You’ll get feedback, education, and a clear action plan to keep progressing between sessions too.
1:1 physiotherapy-led sessions give you the chance to focus fully on your body, your goals, and your rehab or fitness journey — with someone by your side who knows how to adapt and support you safely.
You can expect reduced pain and improved function, a personalised plan that evolves with your progress, and a better understanding of how your body moves. Many people find their confidence and independence with exercise increases, especially when they’re guided by supportive coaching that bridges the gap fro m injury to performance.
These sessions also make for a smoother, safer transition into our group classes if that’s your goal. For many, this focused time unlocks progress where previous attempts have stalled — particularly if you’ve been nervous, deconditioned, or unsure how to get started.

1-1 sessions FAQs

How are 1–1 sessions different from standard personal training?
Our sessions are delivered by physiotherapists — not just trainers — which means we understand injury, pathology, and recovery. We blend clinical expertise with progressive exercise programming, and can modify, scale or adapt based on your needs.
We carry out a full assessment beforehand to understand your history, movement quality, and goals. Every session is designed with your current ability, pain levels, and long-term aims in mind.
We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal problems including back pain, post-op rehab, arthritis, menopause-related joint issues, shoulder and knee injuries, and long-standing sports niggles. If you’re not sure if this is right for you, just get in touch.
Absolutely. In fact, many people use 1:1 sessions to build confidence and get a handle on their movement before joining something like reformer Pilates, StrongHER Together, or Back to Activity.
Sessions are typically 60 minutes long. You can book directly through our website or give us a call on 0800 0751 641 — we’ll help match you to the right clinician and session type.
A 60-minute 1:1 physiotherapy-led session costs £100 and gives you the time and space to fully focus on your goals with expert guidance throughout. We also offer 30-minute sessions, which are more suited to checking technique or working on one or two specific areas — but for most people, the full hour is where real progress happens. It allows us to assess, treat, coach, and build your programme in a way that truly moves you forward.
